On Friday night, my friend Sharla, my cousin Jennie and I went to Barnes and Noble for the Breaking Dawn Prom (I know...the Prom? As my friend Sharla said..."That was so 3 books ago".) It would have made sense to have the theme be a bridal shower or something, but whatever. Anyway...we went, we had our picture taken, we made these lovely picture frames and then we got a corsage with a black rose, and we made "Bella Bracelets". Great fun. Especially when we were the only adults there....mostly kids around the ages of 12-16. Boy did we feel pretty cool, let me tell you! Oh well! We got there pretty early because we were told that if we didn't get a bracelet, we wouldn't get a book! So we got there around 9pm, and there were PLENTY of bracelets...so we went to Red Robyn to stuff our face with appetizers and desserts. That was the best part. I wonder what our boy waiter thought of us with our cool corsage's? Now, this picture is pretty special. It only took about 10 times to get it. Sharla had a hard time keeping her eyes open (not sure if it was because it was WAY past her bedtime??) and I couldn't seem to get us all centered. So, here we are.
Jennie didn't want a prom picture (I can't imagine why not??? There were only a million teeny boppers around looking at us funny...), so we settled for this...
Sharla and I at 1:30 am getting our book...Yeah! Let the reading BEGIN!!!
I finished the book last night, pretty good...I feel indifferent towards it. Not my favorite out of the series. Can't say that I would let my daughter read this one in particular (not that I have one, but if I did...I would wait till she was maybe 18 to read it). So, still worth the read because I read the others and HAD to find out how the saga ends! What did you think of the book??

Okay, I think I am the only person NOT reading these books! Geez... I'm so behind and so not cool. :) I have decided to jump on the band wagon and start... a little late I know. I have to see hwat these books are all about since everyone is talking about them.
OK, I'm 2 chapters from the end and I must say, SOOO did not see about 75% of this stuff happening! I have been surprised a little more with each chapter. I like it, though. Just wasn't prepared for all of the twists and turns. Can't wait for the Twilight movie to come out in December, though! Let the fun begin!
you have got to get that close up picture of the three of us off there. I look absolutely awful!!! I thought the book was good. Probably not my favorite, but definately up there.
I am glad to see that someone else actually agrees with me when I also said that I wouldn't want my daughter to read this til age 18. It was my least favorite, in so much that I didn't even finish it! Reading about all their lustly longings and behaviors isn't my fav. The 3rd and 4th books did not motivate me to keep reading; too weird, too personal, too much of the same "I can't breathe with him all over me." I like Edward; I don't like Bella very much. Several pre-teens (who would let them read this one?) told me they thought this one was "gross" and how uncomfortable they felt. Hello moms? Do they know what their kids are reading? Stephenie Meyer said in an interview we read that this book should have had a sticker that said, "For ages 16 and up." But, your outing looked like fun--I do love doing things like that. The Harry Potter ones have been a blast! Even for a 40 yr old fan!
